Grand Canal Theatre

If you need to be cheered up this January, after the festive Season, we have a lot of shows that will do just that!

Whats on now? - Dirty Dancing

The wait is finally over – Dirty Dancing The Classic Story On Stage is here at last! With only a handful of tickets left for this week, don’t miss your chance to have "The Time Of Your Life"!  This record breaking smash hit musical which opens tonight, January 17th and runs until February 25th, has all of the tantalizing dance scenes you remember from the movie and many more. Tickets from €25.

Patrons attending DIRTY DANCING between January 23rd – 30th should allow extra time to get here due to roadwork’s on Cardiff Lane and Macken Street. To facilitate the works there will be no parking permitted between Pearse Street and Misery Hill.

Whats next? - Calendar Girls

Calendar Girls is coming back for the very last time. The original Calendar Girl herself Miss Lynda Bellingham returns to the show with Camilla Dallerup, Jan Harvey, Sue Holderness, Deena Payne, Lisa Riley, June Watson and Ruth Madoc with Kevin Sacre as Lawrence the photographer and Joe McGann as John.
A group of ordinary women do something extraordinary and spark a global phenomenon when they persuade one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference. Based on an inspiring true story, Calendar Girls is quirky, poignant and hilarious!

Opera North

One of the best-regarded arts companies in the European arena, Opera North will perform two of their most epic productions at the theatre next March. Opera North is distinguished by both ambitious new productions and revivals that showcase the work of the Company at its best and this will be on display in March with a revival of the deeply tragic Puccini’s Madama Butterfly on 13th, 15th and 17th March and a new production of Handel’s Giulio Cesare on 14th and 16th March.
Giulio Cesare opened this Saturday in Leeds to a phenomenal response!
The Guardian gave it a 4 star Review saying - “the finest, most tasteful baroque singing you will hear anywhere”
